The story of Global Initiative begins over 25 years ago when founders Chris and Gareth met whilst studying sciences at the University of Oxford.

But let's be honest, it probably looked a bit more like this. They both shared a love for technology and agreed that this Internet thing might be quite a big deal. They wanted to be a part of it, so started a dotcom project and Global Initiative was born in 1999.

However just as their first venture was starting to get momentum, 2000 hit and the Dotcom Crash put an abrupt end to their project. They adapted quickly and reformed as a web design company.

Throughout the naughties the company grew and evolved into the full service digital agency we are now. More staff joined and we moved into our George Street offices that we’re still in today.

As we've grown, a culture of inclusiveness has become ever more important to us. We have Takeaway Tuesday, Games Nights, Friday night drinks, and a daily question on our Slack channel: "Jamie's Quiz Channel Win". We make the most of the perks from our central Oxford location, and working beyond 5.30pm is completely discouraged.

We are proud to be in a position today where we can give back to the community and support social & environmental projects through our Initiative Fund, as well as invest in start ups with our Initiative Incubator. We are continually evolving as a company; we are as excited as ever about new technologies and how they can improve lives.
