Business Development Manager

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving our growth. You will be responsible for lead generation, new sales, and writing tender responses and proposals. You will also coordinate marketing efforts and engage with the community using our newly refurbished offices, which include a Hub space for meetings, launches, and other events. In the mid-term, you'll have the opportunity to forge and lead a sales team around you.

Salary Range: £40,000-£50,000 depending on experience.

Bonus: Up to 50% of base salary based on KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation: Identify and develop new business opportunities through various channels, including networking events, cold outreach, and inbound marketing efforts.
  • Client Engagement: Schedule and conduct meetings with potential clients to understand their needs and present our solutions.
  • Proposal Writing: Prepare and submit tender responses and proposals tailored to client requirements.
  • Sales: Close deals and achieve sales targets, contributing to our revenue growth.
  • Community Engagement: Utilize our Hub space to organise and participate in community events, networking opportunities, and client meetings.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry stakeholders, and partners.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic business development plans and marketing efforts.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior sales team members as the team grows.
  • Account Management: Manage and grow existing client accounts by identifying new opportunities and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports, providing regular updates on sales performance and market trends to senior management.
  • Product Demonstrations and Presentations: Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients, showcasing the features and benefits of our solutions.
  • Market Research and Competitive Analysis: Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay informed about industry trends.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer support teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of sales strategies.
  • Attending Industry Events and Conferences: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients and stay updated on industry developments.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive sales strategies and plans.
  • Client Onboarding and Training: Ensure smooth onboarding of new clients, providing necessary training and support to help them effectively use our solutions.
  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, ensuring favourable terms and compliance with company policies.
  • Sales Process Optimization: Continuously review and optimise the sales process to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Your Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role in the software development or digital health industry.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and digital health solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Target-driven with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
